Basketball Recap: Roxborough Sets Scoring Season-High Against South Philadelphia

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Roxborough). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 78-18 victory over the South Philadelphia Rams. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roxborough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nahir Wolfe, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 23 points and eight steals. Wolfe is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Jones, who went 7 of 10 en route to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Roxborough was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

The win (which was Roxborough's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for South Philadelphia, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Roxborough won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Roxborough likes a good challenge. As for South Philadelphia, they will take on MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
