Brenton Allen leads a balanced attack to beat Lake Gibson

Recap: Lake Region Thunder vs. Lake Gibson Braves

Even though the Lake Region Thunder have not done well against the Lake Gibson Braves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Lake Region walked away with a 74-65 victory over Lake Gibson. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Lake Region's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenton Allen, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dwayne Lattimore, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Lake Region is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Lake Gibson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Lake Region will take on Gainesville at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lake Gibson, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Kathleen at 7:30 p.m.
