Campo Verde fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Higley on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-3. The Coyotes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Wyatt Rauch was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Campo Verde's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Higley, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Campo Verde will head out to challenge Canyon View at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Coyotes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Higley, they will venture away from home to take on Highland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
