Softball Recap: Perry County Central Takes a Loss

Perry County Central was the 7-3 winner over Johnson Central when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Commodores fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Thursday. Commodores fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Golden Eagles since Thursday.

M Fugate and J Mullins did some serious damage despite the final result: Fugate went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Mullins went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. H Neace was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Perry County Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-14 record this season. As for Johnson Central, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry County Central will host Belfry at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Boyd County at 6:00 p.m.
