Baseball Game Preview: Snohomish Panthers vs. Mountlake Terrace Hawks

The Snohomish Panthers will face off against the Mountlake Terrace Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Snohomish's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Mountlake Terrace's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Snohomish barely beat Marysville Getchell the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Marysville Getchell on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Brayden Holscher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Apollo Mason was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Landon Klein was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Snohomish kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Mountlake Terrace sidestepped Stanwood for a 4-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Mountlake Terrace's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Snohomish, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
