Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Timberview Takes a Loss

Mansfield Timberview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burleson Elks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Elks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Cailyn Gaines paced Mansfield Timberview's offense, picking up 12 kills. Gaines got some help from Player #6 and her 22 assists.

Burleson found their leader in freshman Leila Davis, who had 21 assists and six digs.

Mansfield Timberview's defeat dropped their record down to 12-21. As for Burleson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-15 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mansfield Timberview is set to challenge their familiar foe Everman at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Burleson will take on rival Cleburne at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
