Baseball Recap: Spanish Fork Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Spanish Fork's offense. They came up short against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Dons in their meetings with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Spanish Fork got a good showing from Rhett Walburger, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Walburger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Spanish Fork's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Maple Mountain, their record now sits at 11-1.

While Spanish Fork had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
