Baseball Recap: Stover Comes Up Short

If Stover was riding high fresh off their 22-5 takedown of Smithton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 14-1 to the Sacred Heart Gremlins on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Gremlins: they've now lost eight in a row.

Dustin Koeller was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Stover's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sacred Heart, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Stover will be playing at home against Leeton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sacred Heart, they will square off against Auburn at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Gremlins surely won't give up without a fight.
