Basketball Recap: Loretto Continues Home Dominance on Friday

There's no place like home for Loretto, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-27 win over the Community Vikings/Viqueens on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Vikings/Viqueens: they've now won four in a row.

It was another big night for Ally Weathers, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was Libby Sanders, who scored eight points.

Community's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Alyssa White, who shot 63% from the field on her way to 10 points and six rebounds, and Mattie Maxey, who earned seven points and three steals.

Loretto pushed their record up to 21-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points on average over those games. As for Community, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-18.

Loretto has already played their next contest (against Cannon County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
