Flag Football Game Preview: Los Osos Grizzlies vs. St. Lucy's Regents

The Los Osos Grizzlies will take on the St. Lucy's Regents at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Los Osos hasn't scored more than 13 points for six games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

On Tuesday, Los Osos lost to Upland at home by a 31-13 margin. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Highlanders/Scots are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, St. Lucy's came up short against Chino Hills on Tuesday, falling 33-7. The Regents have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, St. Lucy's saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Megan Cortes rushed for 67 yards and one score on only six carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards.

St. Lucy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Los Osos, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-1.

Everything came up roses for Los Osos against St. Lucy's in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-13 victory. In that game, the Grizzlies amassed a halftime lead of 27-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
