Baseball Recap: Reading Comes Up Short

Elizabethtown hit Reading with a eight-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red KNights came up short against the Bears, falling 10-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Red KNights in their meetings with the Bears: they've now lost six in a row.

Reading saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frandy Ruiz, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Reading now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Elizabethtown, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Reading and Elizabethtown will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red KNights will square off against rival Muhlenberg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Elizabethtown is set to challenge their familiar foe Conestoga Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
