Jackson's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Westside Seminoles, posting a 42-13 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 29 points or more this season.

Jackson had a senior duo take command as Canaan Bernhardt threw for 261 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes and Jaison McCall picked up 144 receiving yards. Bernhardt's passing game has become a key predictor of the Red Devils' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-5 otherwise.

Jaiden Stephens and Justin Releford certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Stephens rushed for 124 yards and one score on only eight carries, while Releford rushed for 43 yards.

Jackson's record is now 4-6. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After each having a week off, Jackson and Thomson will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westside, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on the 14th. The Seminoles will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
