Softball Recap: Sumner Find Success

While Sumner's victory against Wharton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Stingrays had just enough and edged out the Wildcats 8-7 on Wednesday. The Stingrays haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Aliyanis Stubbs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Stubbs was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Jaelyn Joiner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Victoria Rudolph was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Sumner's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Wharton, their record is now 12-11.

As of now, neither Sumner nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
