Basketball Game Preview: Wahoo Warriors vs. Nebraska City Pioneers

Wahoo is 6-0 against Nebraska City since December of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Wahoo Warriors will be taking part in a tournament against the Nebraska City Pioneers at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wahoo saw some tournament action on Thursday. They walked away with a 39-31 victory over Malcolm. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Wahoo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gretchen Seagren, who posted nine points and three blocks. Seagren has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 13 times she's played. Erin Golladay was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Nebraska City waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 34-32 win over the Blue Devils. That's two games straight that the Pioneers have won by exactly two points.

Wahoo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Nebraska City, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Wahoo didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Nebraska City when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 24-18 win. Does Wahoo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nebraska City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
