Soccer Game Preview: Aurora East vs. South Elgin

The Aurora East Tomcats will be taking part in a tournament against the South Elgin Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Aurora East's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Aurora East is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Streamwood on Tuesday. The Tomcats fell just short of the Sabres by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Aurora East have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Jeremie Bititi, who's now up to four this season.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for South Elgin's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Elgin on Tuesday. South Elgin haven't had much luck with Elgin recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Aurora East's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-5. As for South Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3-1.

Aurora East beat South Elgin 2-0 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Tomcats repeat their success, or do the Storm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
