The Lapel Bulldogs are taking a road trip to  face off against the Elwood Panthers  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Lapel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5  runs per game  this season.
On Tuesday, Lapel earned  a  10-7 victory over University. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Bulldogs.
 Jakoby Nunley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing 1.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Nunley was also solid in the batter's box,  earning two  runs and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Quade Hall and  Camden Novak did most of the damage at the plate:  Hall  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and two  RBI, while  Novak  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base. Those  two  RBI gave  Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ray Smith, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  run and one  double.
Meanwhile, Elwood was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They came up short against  Mississinewa, falling  16-6.
  Aidan Flanagan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  triple and one  run.
 Lapel's record is now 12-1. As for Elwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.
Wednesday's   match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lapel has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .532. However, it's not like Elwood struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .431. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Lapel took their  win against Elwood  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
