Volleyball Recap: Salem Triumphs

Salem posted their closest victory since May 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate Panthers, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Witches: when they faced off against the Panthers back in April, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Salem was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-23, 15-6.

Salem's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-14. As for KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Salem will venture away from home to face off against Woburn Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tanners will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Witches surely won't give up without a fight. As for KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Wakefield Memorial on the 21st.
