Soccer Game Preview: Puckett vs. Mendenhall

The Puckett Wolves will square off against the Mendenhall Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Puckett came up short against Pelahatchie and fell 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for Puckett in their meetings with Pelahatchie: they've now lost three in a row.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers last Thursday. Mendenhall came up short against Crystal Springs, falling 8-1. Kolten Boler was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Mendenhall's goal came courtesy of Andrew Black, which was the first he's scored this season.

Mendenhall's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Puckett, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Puckett took their win against Mendenhall in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. Will Wolves repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
