Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson Lions vs. Santiam Christian Eagles

The Jefferson Lions and the Santiam Christian Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Wednesday, Jefferson didn't have quite enough to beat Blanchet Catholic and fell 49-46.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santiam Christian). They blew past Willamina, posting an 84-28 victory. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.

Santiam Christian's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3. As for Jefferson, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Jefferson was able to grind out a solid victory over Santiam Christian when the teams last played back in February, winning 71-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
