Volleyball Recap: Andover Comes Up Short

Andover managed to slip by Maple Grove the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Huskies lost 3-0 to the Crimson on Wednesday. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crimson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Andover was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19, 25-23.

Alex Kopetzki paced Andover's offense, picking up seven kills. Kopetzki got some help from Brennan Royal and his 20 assists. Kopetzki and Royal didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with two apiece.

Andover's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Maple Grove, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4.

Andover has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Minnetonka on the 18th. As for Maple Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Park on the 18th.
