Softball Preview: Unionville Longhorns vs. Oxford Hornets
The Unionville Longhorns will venture away from home to square off against the Oxford Hornets at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Oxford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Unionville, who comes in off a win.
Unionville will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Bishop Shanahan on Friday. Unionville put the hurt on Bishop Shanahan with a sharp 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Shannon Megill and Addison Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Megill scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Smith went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Gracie Brun also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
