Baseball Game Preview: Mosinee Indians vs. Ashland Oredockers

Mosinee is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Ashland is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Indians will host the Oredockers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mosinee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Mosinee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Abbotsford a 12-0 shutout. The Indians have beaten the Falcons the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Mosinee got a great performance from Zach Nechuta as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Nechuta a new career-high.

At the plate, Tyler Baars was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Lokken, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Ashland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak last Thursday. They lost 13-5 to Hayward. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Oredockers have suffered since April 6, 2024.

Mosinee's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.
