Baseball Recap: Service Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

While Service's victory against West Anchorage wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

The team relied heavily on Rilen Niclai, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kegan Lennox, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Service pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for West Anchorage, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Service will take on Dimond at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Anchorage, they will challenge Bettye Davis East Anchorage at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
