Recap: Community Charter Titans vs. Triumph Charter Jaguars
If the Community Charter Titans were feeling good off their 50-26 takedown of the CALS Early College Falcons back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Community Charter was outmatched by Triumph Charter at home and fell 67-39. Community Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-17.
Defeat or not, Community Charter got some senior leadership from Jefferson Barahona and Misael Davila. Barahona scored 11 points, while Davila. scored ten points.
Triumph Charter found their leader in underclassman Antonio Garcia III, who scored 22 points. Garcia III is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Oswaldo Araiza, who scored 12 points.
Community Charter's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Triumph Charter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Community Charter will head out on the road to take on Valley Oaks CES at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Oaks CES is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Triumph Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bert Corona Charter at 4:00 p.m. on January 11th. Bert Corona Charter will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1451st, while Triumph Charter is ranked 702nd).
