Baseball Recap: Hollywood Hills Comes Up Short

Hollywood Hills was the 15-0 winner over Plantation when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hollywood Hills Spartans took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plantation Colonels on Thursday. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Colonels since on Thursday.

Kristian Baldayo and Anthony Klaiss stepped up to the plate in a big way. Baldayo got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Klaiss scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that Klaiss scored this season. Another player making a difference was Lazaro Bonilla, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Hollywood Hills and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Plantation, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hollywood Hills will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Northwestern at 3:30 p.m. on April 1st. Plantation will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Boyd Anderson at 5:30 p.m. on April 1st.
