Softball Game Preview: Bryant Owls vs. Academy of American Studies Eagles

Bryant is 0-3 against Academy of American Studies since May of 2017 but things could change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. Bryant has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bryant is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season last Wednesday. They lost 14-4 to Long Island City.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Academy of American Studies). They blew past Sinatra 20-9 last Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with Sinatra recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Academy of American Studies pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Bryant, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bryant might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Academy of American Studies in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Owls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
