Buchanan extended their postseason success on Thursday against Clovis. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Cougars. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Buchanan had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-12.

Buchanan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlos Jay, who had 18 assists and ten digs. Jay has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Naval, who had 18 digs and nine assists.

Clovis' loss came despite strong showings from William Johnson and Trey Alexander. Johnson had 18 digs and six assists, while Alexander had 18 kills, eight digs, two aces, and one block.

Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 25-11. As for Clovis, their loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-5.

Buchanan has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Archbishop Mitty on the 19th. As for Clovis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Bellarmine College Prep on the 19th.
