Recap: Oak Hills Bulldogs vs. Sultana Sultans

The Oak Hills Bulldogs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against Sultana by a score of 35-24. Given Oak Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Sultana is ranked 352nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LaMason Waller and Jacob Higgs, Sultana certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Waller picked up 186 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Higgs threw for 254 yards and three touchdowns. Waller's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards.

Oak Hills' victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.7 points per game. As for Sultana, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Hills will stay at home for another week and welcome Burroughs at 7:00 p.m. on October 26th. Burroughs comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sultana, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hesperia at 7:00 p.m. Hesperia is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
