Basketball Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

If Cairo was feeling good fresh off their 94-54 takedown of Egyptian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cairo Pilots were outmatched by the Massac County Patriots and fell 80-52. The defeat continues a trend for the Pilots in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now lost five in a row.

Leading Massac County to victory were Jack Turner and Jude Harmon. Turner went 10 for 15 on his way to 26 points along with seven assists and six rebounds, while Harmon went 11 of 20 en route to 26 points. Turner is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Eskridge, who posted eight points and five boards.

Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Massac County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-11 record.

Cairo has already played their next game (against Mayfield), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Massac County has already played their next contest, a 67-47 defeat against Carterville on the 3rd.
