NCISAA Carolina Piedmont recap November 5, 2013
Christ School's Ellis Pace rumbled for the longest rushing play in NCISAA Carolina Piedmont this season in his game against Asheville School last week. Pace scampered for 68 yards on the play and finished with 196 on the day as his team beat the Blues.
SouthLake Christian Academy took down Lake Norman Storm 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Joseph Kook made the biggest impact on defense this week as Hickory Grove Christian bested High Point Christian Academy. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed 1 sack.
Bruce Dixon threw for 145 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 15-25 with 3 interceptions.
Dillon Schoolcraft was the best receiver in the league this week as the Lions defeated the Cougars. Schoolcraft tallied 3 receptions for 57 yards. Keyshawn Allen helped Hickory Grove Christian's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 45 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Hickory Grove Christian's Dixon and Bryson Allen have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Dixon has thrown for 2,077 yards this season, while Allen has 48 catches for 753 yards. Pace from Christ School leads the league in rushing with 1,249 yards.
One of NCISAA Carolina Piedmont's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Ed Reynolds' team and Concord First Assembly Academy face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Mark Moroz's team takes on High Point Christian Academy. As it stands, the Greenies are in second, while the Cougars are in fourth.
SouthLake Christian Academy led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on the Storm.
