Preview: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Lanier County Bulldogs
The Atkinson County Rebels the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Lanier County Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard on Friday.
Atkinson County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Turner County for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-45 win at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Atkinson County has posted yet this season.
Atkinson County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Kari Northcutt, who scored 21 points. Northcutt is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kamari Moore, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Lanier County made easy work of Irwin County on Tuesday and carried off a 62-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Lanier County has posted against Irwin County since December 20, 2019.
Atkinson County pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Lanier County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.
