Baseball Game Preview: Mayer Lutheran Crusaders vs. Eagle Ridge Academy

The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders will challenge Eagle Ridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mayer Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Eagle Ridge Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Mayer Lutheran gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-2 win over West Lutheran. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Mayer Lutheran got a big performance out of Seth Aurich, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Aurich a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Ingram, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Eagle Ridge Academy couldn't beat Spectrum on Tuesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. Eagle Ridge Academy fell 10-5 to Spectrum. That's two games in a row now that Eagle Ridge Academy has lost by exactly five runs.

Jay Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Andler, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Mayer Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
