Football Recap: Kennewick Has No Trouble Against Southridge

Kennewick won against Hanford last Friday with 35 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Everything went the Lions' way against the Southridge Suns as they made off with a 35-12 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Suns, too.

Southridge's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabe Borisch, who rushed for 97 yards and one score. Borisch got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards. Koven Burke was another key receiver, picking up 108 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Kennewick has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.0 points this season. As for Southridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Kennewick didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-20 victory against Pasco on the 19th. As for Southridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 27-19 loss against Richland on the 19th.
