Soccer Game Preview: Hermiston vs. Walla Walla

The Hermiston Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Walla Walla Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hermiston will be strutting in after a win while Walla Walla will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Hermiston needed a bit of extra time to put away Kennewick. They had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hermiston.

Meanwhile, Walla Walla didn't have quite enough to beat Richland on Tuesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Walla Walla can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Richland are ranked 11th).

Hermiston's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Walla Walla, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Everything went Hermiston's way against Walla Walla when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Hermiston made off with a 5-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
