Baseball Game Preview: Clint Lions vs. Randall Raiders

The Clint Lions will challenge the Randall Raiders on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Clint sitting on five straight wins and Randall on seven.

Clint is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Bowie 19-1. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Daniel Ochoa made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off ten hits. He has become a key player for Clint: the team is 8-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-10-1 otherwise. Ochoa was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Clint got a massive performance out of Oscar Maldonado, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. The Lions are undefeated when Maldonado posts two or more runs, but 10-11-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Abraham Medina, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Clint always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are 10-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Randall not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 31st (when they won 13-3). They put the hurt on Fort Stockton with a sharp 11-1 victory.

Randall's win bumped their record up to 22-8-1. As for Clint, their victory bumped their record up to 17-11-1.
