Basketball Recap: Johnson County Takes a Loss

Johnson County came up into this matchup off a tough 32-point loss last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wilkinson County Warriors by a score of 59-56 on Monday. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Johnson County saw an underclassman step up: freshman Daezon Devero dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 boards. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Devero. Another player making a difference was Dallas Taylor, who posted six points.

Johnson County's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Wilkinson County, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Johnson County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-55 win against Glascock County on the 7th. As for Wilkinson County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-40 victory against Georgia Military College on the 7th.
