Soccer Game Preview: Campolindo vs. Acalanes

The Campolindo Cougars will take on the Acalanes Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Campolindo's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Campolindo is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clayton Valley Charter just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They and the Ugly Eagles finished up their game with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked the Cougars' first draw of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Maya Abughosh, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, Acalanes hasn't lost a match since December 7, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Miramonte a 1-0 shutout.

Campolindo's draw gives them a new season record of 10-2-1. As for Acalanes, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-4.

Everything went Campolindo's way against Acalanes in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Campolindo made off with a 4-1 victory. Will Campolindo repeat their success, or does Acalanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
