Softball Recap: Eufaula Finishes Even with Carroll

On Tuesday, the Eufaula Tigers and the Carroll Eagles finished up on equal footing with a 9-9 tie.

Jade Barnett spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

Eufaula's draw gives them a new season record of 3-10-1. As for Carroll, they moved theirs to 7-5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eufaula will face off against Highland Home at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highland Home has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18 runs per game on average), something Eufaula will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carroll, they will take on Houston Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Houston Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 0.4 runs per game this season, so Carroll's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
