Football Recap: Scott Comes Up Short

Scott extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They were dealt a 55-6 defeat at the hands of the Perkins Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Pirates are ranked 56th).

As for Perkins, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games.

Among those leading the charge was Sam Schweinfurth, who threw for 193 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes. Connor Smith was in the mix too, providing Perkins with two scores.

Looking ahead, Scott will take on East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Perkins, they will challenge St. Francis de Sales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
