Volleyball Game Preview: Lathrop Malemutes vs. Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears

The Lathrop Malemutes will take on the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears at 11:45 a.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Lathrop heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They came up short against Colony, falling 3-0. The Malemutes have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Lathrop was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-22, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Juneau-Douglas suffered their biggest loss since October 23rd on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Dimond.

Juneau-Douglas took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-17, 25-21.

Lathrop's defeat dropped their record down to 21-26-10. As for Juneau-Douglas, their loss dropped their record down to 25-19-7.

Lathrop couldn't quite get it done against Juneau-Douglas in their previous meeting back in October as they fell 2-0. Can the Malemutes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
