Basketball Game Preview: Silver Bluff Bulldogs vs. Augusta Christian Lions

The Silver Bluff Bulldogs and the Augusta Christian Lions will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Silver Bluff comes in on three and Augusta Christian on five.

Silver Bluff is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Horse Creek Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Silver Bluff was the clear victor by a 72-49 margin over Horse Creek Academy on Wednesday. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 56-36 by the end of the third, a deficit the Stallions had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Augusta Christian won against Lakeside on Friday with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Augusta Christian came out on top against Thomson by a score of 72-62. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Augusta Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Silver Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
