Basketball Recap: Wallkill Takes a Loss

Wallkill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through an 84-43 loss at the hands of the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 88-41 back in January.

Wallkill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Alex Marshall, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was George Avila, who earned seven points and seven rebounds.

Wallkill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Coming up, Wallkill will head out to square off against New Paltz at 5:45 p.m. on February 14th. New Paltz will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Wallkill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 76-39 loss against Green Tech on the 10th.
