Baseball Game Preview: Dunbar Wildcats vs. Carter-Riverside Eagles

Dunbar hasn't had much luck against Carter-Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dunbar Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carter-Riverside Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Dunbar managed to slip by Carter-Riverside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Dunbar lost 22-8 to Carter-Riverside on Tuesday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Carter-Riverside's part, Jesus Ojeda made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Ojeda was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also brought in three RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Carter-Riverside got a massive performance out of Logan Ruiz, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those runs marked the first that Ruiz scored this season. Adam Gamero was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Carter-Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-1. As for Carter-Riverside, with the win, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-8.
