Basketball Recap: Union Colony Prep Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Union Colony Prep won the last time they faced Gilpin County, and Josiah Rodriguez did his part to make sure it happened again. The Union Colony Prep Timberwolves really took it to the Gilpin County Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up an 85-40 win thanks in part to Rodriguez, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 25 points along with eight boards and six assists. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played.

Tanner Sarchet was another key player, going 7 of 12 en route to 17 points in addition to five assists and five steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Gilpin County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taurean Paxton, who posted seven points, and Sutton Sirayanone, who put up seven points and five boards. Sirayanone continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Union Colony Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game.
