Softball Recap: Farwell Comes Up Short

Farwell extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 23-2 to the Pinconning Spartans. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Pinconning, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Pinconning's part, Ella Hunter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. Hunter was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Pinconning got a massive performance out of Hailey Niedzwiecki, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Emma McQuarter, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

While Farwell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
