Baseball Recap: Woden Eagles vs. Joaquin Rams
Woden lost against Joaquin back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell 8-5 to the Rams. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wade Stanaland put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
Stanaland wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Williams, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Woden's record is now 10-6. As for Joaquin, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-8.
Coming up, Woden is taking a road trip to face off against Kennard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.93 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Joaquin, they will welcome Gary at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday.
