Baseball Game Preview: Hoover Tornados vs. Duarte Falcons

The Hoover Tornados will venture away from home to face off against the Duarte Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hoover has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Duarte will arrive with six straight wins.

Hoover came up short against Arcadia on Friday, falling 31-1.

While Duarte didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-12-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sierra Vista on Thursday, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Falcons have posted against the Dons since March 25, 2022.

Duarte's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Hoover, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Hoover couldn't quite finish off Duarte in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 and fell 2-0. Can Hoover avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
