Football Game Preview: Hillcrest Christian Saints vs. Polytechnic Panthers

The Hillcrest Christian Saints are taking a road trip to take on the Polytechnic Panthers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Polytechnic took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Hillcrest Christian, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Hillcrest Christian was fully in charge, breezing past Malibu 60-16. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 28 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Dylan Stueber, who threw for 190 yards and five TDs while completing 92.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 87 yards on only nine carries. Those 87 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Stefan Fadaei was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hillcrest Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Ashton Shepherd led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 51 points the game before, Polytechnic was a bit more limited in their contest on Saturday. They were dealt a 50-6 loss at the hands of Chadwick. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Dolphins are ranked fourth).

The win made it two in a row for Hillcrest Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
