Soccer Recap: Lake Nona Has No Trouble Against Jones

Lake Nona kept a clean sheet against Jones on Wednesday. They blew past the Fightin' Tigers 7-0. It was an even better day for Mason Saunders as he scored three goals for his team.

Lake Nona used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Jones. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Francesco Leone, Fernando Ferreira Palhares, and Sebastian Valencia. Ferreira Palhares made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and one assist A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Lake Nona's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lake Nona and Jones will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Lions see the pitch they'll take on Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Jones, their break will end when they face Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on December 4.
