Softball Game Preview: Hillsboro Indians vs. Eastern Warriors

The Hillsboro Indians will take on the Eastern Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Saturday, Hillsboro beat Symmes Valley 7-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Camryn Spruell was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Spruell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Addley Miller was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Merideth Dietrick, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Eastern put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over Zane Trace.

Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eastern, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Hillsboro's way against Eastern in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, as Hillsboro made off with a 9-3 win. Will Hillsboro repeat their success, or does Eastern has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
